MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) \u2013 In 2020, the companies affiliated with the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom increased export by 5% year-on-year, BelTA learned from Bellesbumprom’s spokesperson Ruzhena Novitskaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDespite the difficult situation due to the coronavirus pandemic, Bellesbumprom’s companies were able to increase supplies to foreign markets to $608.5 million, up by $30 million, or 5%, year-on-year,\u201d Ruzhena Novitskaya said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2020, Bellesbumprom ramp up supplies to non-CIS countries. Export to these markets in 2020 went up by 11.4% over 2019 (to the EU member states \u2013 by 5.4%). In addition, export to China surged by almost 1.3 times. Supplies to Russia rose by 5.2% and to Ukraine by 7%. Bellesbumprom’s also reported growing exports to such non-CIS countries as the USA, Canada, Austria, the UK, Switzerland, Finland, Turkey, India, and Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2020, Bellesbumprom resumed shipments to Albania, Ireland, Iceland, Cyprus, Mexico, and some other countries. \u201cAll in all, in 2020 our companies exported their products to 70 countries, which was a record number of export markets. In 2020, Bellesbumprom sold 76.2% of its output abroad, which was record high,\u201d Ruzhena Novitskaya noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
