{"id":2200,"date":"2022-06-20T06:38:42","date_gmt":"2022-06-20T06:38:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwgroup.com.tr\/?p=2200"},"modified":"2022-06-20T06:38:45","modified_gmt":"2022-06-20T06:38:45","slug":"timber-prices-going-up-daily-in-europe-due-to-ukraine-war","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwgroup.com.tr\/zh\/timber-prices-going-up-daily-in-europe-due-to-ukraine-war\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Timber prices going up daily&#8221; in Europe due to Ukraine war"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">European architects and designers are struggling to source\u00a0wood\u00a0for their projects as\u00a0Russia&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine\u00a0has brought imports from the region to a standstill, threatening stocks and driving up prices across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Studios are reporting that costs for solid\u00a0oak\u00a0and\u00a0birch plywood\u00a0have doubled in the last few months, while others have seen the price of structural timber go up by around 20 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Everyone is really worried about their supply chains,&#8221; said Sean Sutcliffe, co-founder of British furniture maker\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/benchmark\/\">B<\/a>enchmark. &#8220;We have projects where it would now cost me more to buy the wood that I&#8217;m charging for the whole thing.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Birch plywood is &#8220;just not available anymore&#8221;, Sutcliffe said. Solid oak is soon to follow suit, according to Signe Bindslev Henriksen of Danish design studio\u00a0Space Copenhagen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It&#8217;s almost like gold at the moment,&#8221; she told Dezeen. &#8220;Everybody is using up all their stock.
